Manuel Rendon is an environmental engineer, inventor, and entrepreneur working at the intersection of programmable materials and distributed manufacturing. He founded Timeplast and String Cubed and is the named inventor on eight granted U.S. patents spanning plastic degradation, programmable water-soluble materials, plastics processing and analog-automated manufacturing. Before committing himself to his companies, he worked in environmental coordination at PepsiCo. His current work at String Cubed explores whether additive manufacturing can progress from printing shapes toward manufacturing function.
